Dorothy Osmond
Dorothy served as a Nurse in the VAD at South Hill Wood hospital.
Before the war
Dorothy was born on 3rd February 1891 in Clapham, the daughter of Henry Osmond, a Wine Merchant. The 1901 and 1911 census show her living in Clapham with her sister Winifred, Aunts Helen and Alice Osmond and her uncle William Osmond, a Press and Publishing Agent.
During the war
Dorothy served as a Nurse from June 1915 until December 1918 completing 3212 hours of service. Her address was given as ‘St Vincent’, 17 Durham Ave, South Hill, Bromley.
After the war
Dorothy married a George Edward Taylor in New Zealand in 1928. She visited England with her husband several times in the following years, staying with her father in Eastbourne. It is not known when she died.
