Mary Lewis

Mary served as a cook and later as a nurse at both South Hill Wood and Masonic Hall VAD hospitals.

Before the war

Mary was born in 1873/4 in Llanrhian, Pembrokeshire. Her father James Lewis being the Vicar there.

During the war

Mary lived at 37 The College in Bromley and served in the VAD as a Cook from October 1914 and then as a Nursing Member from 1915 until December 1918 completing 3586 hours.
