The 1911 census lists Evelyn as living at 20 High Street, Beckenham.
During the war
Evelyn was a member of the Kent 96 VAD based at Balgowan Hospital Beckenham where her role was as lady superintendent. She nursed between August 1915 and April 1919.
The role of lady superintendent was a paid role and Evelyn received 2 guineas per week.
Evelyn married Edgar Vonder Heyde in Bromley in 1916.
Award
Evelyn received the Royal Red Cross medal, a military decoration awarded for exceptional services in military nursing.
After the war
Evelyn passed away on 28th March 1929 having moved to Eynsford.
