Dr McArthur
Dr Duncan Romaine McArthur M.B., C.M 1882, M.D. 1887. U Edin, served as the Medical Officer for South Hill VAD Hospital from October 1914 to December 1918.
Before the war
Dr McArthur was born around 1860 in Ceylon and lived with his wife Gertrude (Nee Bateman) at Ravenscroft, Masons Hill, Bromley during the war years. They married in Norfolk in 1891 and had no children. Dr McArthur practiced in Luton and Devon before coming to Bromley sometime between 1901 and 1911.
After the war
Gertrude died in Bromley on 2nd June 1926 and Duncan later remarried a Helen McArthur in 1927 and retired to Bournemouth where he died on 12 July 1942.
