Violet Boreham

Violet nursed at South Hill Wood VAD hospital.

Before the war

Violet was born in Abbotsbury, Dorset in 1874.

Violet was the daughter of William Todman Boreham a GP, originally from Suffolk who seems to have always practiced in Dorset and Devon. Her brother Herbert William Boreham also qualified as a Doctor in 1899.

In the 1911 census Violet is living with her mother Emma, a widow, at 26 Elmfield Road, Bromley. They appear to have moved to Bromley after the death of her father in 1902.

During the War

Violet served from November 1916 until December 1918 completing 3687 hours.
